Do I have to be fit to come?
Absolutely not. Please don’t ever let anything hold you back. This is fitness for every body. This is your workout. Go at your pace. And we are here to make sure you do. We are all very supportive, inclusive, and a lot of have struggled with the pressure we have felt in other fitness environments. Our goal is true inclusivity, feeling good, and creating the best space possible for everyone, regardless of ability.
How is this different from other fitness classes?
Typically group fitness is varied and random workouts, which is great as something to do for general fitness, or just getting your sweat on. We go beyond that - we are a program. Following the principles of progressive overload we guide you through programming designed to improve your capabilities. Simply put, we take all that group fitness fun and focus it so that you see results. Choose your strength training days, and if you’d like to add in some more cardio, add in a HIIT class, bootcamp, or come laugh and dance with us in Zumba.
What is progressive overload?
Simply put, it’s doing more over time. Gradually increasing the amount of weight used, number of exercises done, or frequency, and continually making your body work just a bit harder, is the difference between seeing changes and doing the same thing over and over without seeing the benefit you could from your fitness routine.
Do I have to come the same days every week?
Nope! Under ideal circumstances you will be able to, but if only life were that simple, right? :) We do program so that each day will progress on the same day the following week, but overall consistency in coming, regardless of what days, is great if that’s what works for you.
I have no experience with weights, is that a problem?
Not a problem at all, teaching you is what my job is! If you’re not feeling comfortable jumping right into a class we can do private sessions before hand to get you comfortable with the movements first.
